Donate to CAFOD’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal to support families fleeing violence in Ukraine:

                                                                                                          Click the link below:

On 24 February, Russian forces began an invasion of Ukraine. Since then, more than a million people have fled to neighbouring countries to escape violence. Thousands more families are preparing to leave their homes and belongings behind.

A donation from you today will support local aid workers from our Caritas sister agencies in Ukraine, as well as neighbouring countries of Poland, Hungary, Romania and Moldova, who are making sure families fleeing violence have all the food, water and shelter they need to stay safe.

Tetiana Stawnychy is President of Caritas Ukraine. She told us: “I see a lot of parents struggling to shepherd their children through this and running them down to the basement whenever the air raid sirens go off. People are moving. Most of them are on their way to the border. This is a huge trauma for all people. The current crisis will inevitably lead to a colossal humanitarian catastrophe.”

That’s why your support is essential. You can provide vital hygiene supplies, emergency food and blankets for warmth to families escaping violence.

Together we must put all our efforts into reaching those most in need. With your compassion and solidarity, we stand united with the people of Ukraine.

CAFOD is a member of the DEC.

      (see bottom of this page.)

What is the Disasters Emergency Committee? (DEC)

The DEC brings together 15 leading UK aid charities to raise funds quickly and efficiently at times of crisis overseas.

In these times of crisis, people in life-and-death situations need our help and the DEC mission is to save, protect and rebuild lives through effective and rapid humanitarian response.

Pooling their resources to work as one, they are pivotal in co-ordinating the UK public's response to overseas disasters. In collaboration with their Rapid Response Network of national media and corporate partners, they raise the alarm to the UK public and set up easy ways to donate.

And they have immediate impact, getting aid to people who need it, FAST!
