If you are a Catholic who has been away from the Church and is thinking about rejoining the Catholic Community, we want you to know you are always welcome

here at St. Mary’s. It may be that you are interested in joining a “Landings” group.

Landings is a process that offers “a safe place to land”: a place for listening and for being heard, a place for asking questions and for reconnecting with your faith as an adult.

During the eight-week Landings process, a small group of active catholics, some of them “returnees” themselves, meets with a small group of returning catholics to share and explore their faith together. Meetings are informal and will be held in Harborne in the home of one of the Leaders.

Landings is not”

        the “saved” welcoming the “sinners”.

people pressurising others to return to church,

full of answers to to teach the “unenlightened”,

blind to the hurt the Church may have caused.

Landings is:

people in solidarity with the returning; who in their own lives have returned,

is founded on the belief that that we do not have to be trained theologians to share what we

believe and to speak honestly about our faith, trusting the Holy Spirit.

Landings participants have said:

“The warm, inviting atmosphere of Landings facilitated my return to catholicism after thirty five years. This programme is a wonderful mix of discussion about theology, philosophy, and real life. The landings team was fantastic.”

“I was a lapsed catholic for 12 years. I felt a spiritual calling but wasn’t sure that returning to the Catholic Church was right. Landings was vital in confirming my decision to return to the Catholic faith.

The group meets for eight Monday evenings for about 1 1/2  to 2 hours and pre-registration is required. If you are interested and/or want more information call or email us:
