Let The Children Live! is a Christian charity founded by Fr Peter Walters and an important part of the work of Funvini is to look after the spiritual and pastoral needs of its children. Let The Children Live! is registered with the Charity Commission (No.1159113) through which people can respond to the needs of children from the streets and shanty-towns of Colombia’s cities, and in particular the city of Medellín.  It aims both to safeguard the lives of children from the violence and poverty of the streets, and to make their lives worth living by giving them love, education and a future.

Most people in Colombia are Roman Catholics and all the children with whom Funvini works are Catholic too. However, if they were not it would make no difference because the charity is committed to help any child in need, no matter what their religion. However, since almost all Funvini’s 400 children are Catholics they are all offered the opportunity to make their First Communion. At this point some discover that they are not baptised so they are then prepared for baptism as well as First Communion.

Casa Walsingham ( Walsingham House ) is named after The Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham in Norfolk, England where Fr Peter Walters, then an Anglican, was based when he founded Let The Children Live! in 1992. It is Funvini’s Centre in Medellín. Please click on the web site link below for more information about the work of Let The Children Live!
