“Before all else, live together in harmony, being of one mind and one heart on the way to God.”  St. Augustine.

Children’s Liturgy at the 9.30am Sunday Family Mass

The 9.30am Mass is a welcoming time for all families including those with very young children.

Please check with our Weekly Newsletter for dates of the Children’s Liturgy - usually during term time.

This is a time for parents of school-age children to enjoy peace and quiet in the Church,

listening to the readings and the homily, whilst their youngsters are discovering the Gospel

through music, art, drama and many other imaginative activities, in the Parish Centre.

The Children’s lectionary is used and the homily is written and delivered with children in mind.  Everyone is understanding and accommodating of little feet needing to keep moving and small voices that find it hard to keep quiet.  The music is uplifting and many of the hymns are old favourites which everyone knows and are able to join in with.

On some weeks a team of volunteers offer two different groups for Children’s Liturgy in the Parish Centre.  For the pre-school and Reception age – there is a parent and child session in the small hall.  For anyone older, there is a session without the parents in the larger hall.  (Feel free to come and see what we do for the first week, but then we encourage you not to stay with your child)

There is an alternative session for all pre-schoolers and their parents, with stories, songs and activities bringing the Gospel to life for the youngest family members.
